The Virgin Islands Long Course Swimming Championships were held at the Dolphins Pool on St. Croix this past weekend May 18-19, 2013. Forty four St. Croix Dolphins swimmers competed alongside 19 St. Thomas and St. John Stingrays.

In addition to these outstanding finishes, there were two new VI Record set this past weekend. St. Thomas Stingray Sasha Klein set a new record in the Girls 13-14 50m Freestyle with a time of 29.09, breaking the previous record of 29.28 set in 1980 by Kristen Knauss. She also qualified to represent the Virgin Islands on the National Team at the CCCAN Swimming Championships. Dolphin swimmer Emberlyn Warehime set a new VI Record in the 6 & under 200m Freestyle with a time of 4:53.93. JJ Washshah earned her spot on the VI National Swim Team to compete at the CCCAN Swimming Championships by qualifying in the Girls 15 & over 50 m Backstroke with a time of 33.28 .
