USVI Soccer Association Hires Men’s National Team Coach

The USVI Soccer Association hired Ahmed Mohamed to prepare and coach the territory’s men’s national team. 

Mohamed brings with him 17 years of experience as a player and coach in both the Swiss Football Association and Somalia Football Federation. He holds a degree in business administration from Feusi College in Switzerland as well as a level “B” and partial level “A” coaching certifications from the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) and the Swiss Football Association. 

“I can’t wait to start”, said head coach Mohamed. “I want to help the USVI players and show them how they can play well and play professionally.” 

The USVI men’s team will face their first test on March 22 in the first of the two-legged qualifier series against Barbados. They will return to the Virgin Islands and finish their second leg against Barbados at 3:30 p.m. on March 26 at the Addelita Cancryn Field in St. Thomas.
